Germany, Heer. A Narvik Shield consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac 1896 in Freising(Narvikschild). Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing raised propeller, anchor, and edelweiss, symbolizing the Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine, and Gebirgsjger, respectively, flanked by a date of 1940, and topped by an inscription of NARVIK along with a German national eagle perched on top of a wreathed swastika, affixed with all four reverse attachment prongs to a magnetic metal backplate with a field grey wool liner
